Westach EGT / CHT Gauges and Accessories

Westach has been supplying reliable, high-quality gauges for aircraft since 1944. EGT gauges are an excellent way to monitor engine health and air/fuel mixture. Low readings usually indicate a rich mixture, while high readings typically indicate a lean mixture.

Westach self-powered (Type J) thermocouples and gauges make perfect sense for formula cars and sports racers with total-loss electrical systems. The difference in temperature between the thermocouple tip and the opposite end of the thermocouple cable generates a small electrical current, which moves the gauge needle. They require no connection to vehicle power, and no batteries.

FF1600 Kent and F2000/S2000 Pinto engines with a single Weber DGV carburetor can typically use only two probes to monitor jetting. Cylinders # 1 and 4 are most sensitive to changes in jetting on the primary throat, while # 2 and 3 reflect changes in jetting on the secondary throat.
